I have drawn with thread as long as I remember. My mother remembers as before being five, playing underneath the table with the lints of fabrics my grandmother was cutting. This is what I did since I was a child in Brazil, drawing with threads on the ground, or with strings of my hair. They are my own states of mind, and body or poetic memories of women in the land where I was born. They were impermanent forms, until one day I decided to stitch them to canvas, from underneath. [Most of these works are in my available collection. Works on private collections are not listed in this website with a few exceptions.

These drawings are done with a thread over a raw canvas and sewn to it. It is something I do since my childhood using lints of cloth or a piece of thread or my hair on the floor. The works on the website are some of the ones I have in my studio. A full catalog of available and or of works in private collections can be provided upon request. Images copyright©evarocha
